PM Modi to Visit Odisha on June 20 for BJP Government’s First Anniversary Celebration

Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Odisha on June 20 to attend a grand event commemorating the first anniversary of the BJP-led government under Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, state Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari announced today.

Originally scheduled for June 12, the celebration has been rescheduled to June 20, with Pujari confirming that the final schedule of the event will be released later today.

“The celebration has been deferred to June 20 from June 12. PM Modi will grace the occasion, making it a historic event for Odisha,” Pujari stated.

CM Invites PM and Home Minister

Ahead of the announcement, CM Mohan Majhi had travelled to New Delhi to personally invite PM Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for the event, signaling the importance the BJP places on marking its first year in power in the state.

Ministers to Present Government’s Report Card

In the lead-up to the main event, all state ministers have been tasked with visiting various districts to connect with citizens and present the government’s one-year report card, showcasing achievements and initiatives undertaken since the BJP assumed office in June 2024, after defeating the BJD in a landmark election.

The June 20 celebration is expected to highlight major policy changes, welfare schemes, and administrative reforms implemented under the new BJP regime.

Significance of the Visit

PM Modi’s participation in the celebration is expected to boost morale within the state unit and strengthen the BJP’s political presence in Odisha, a state where the party has made significant inroads in recent years. The visit is also likely to include interactions with beneficiaries, speeches, and a broader outline of the Centre’s development roadmap for the state.

This will be PM Modi’s first official visit to Odisha since the BJP formed the government in the state for the first time.
