To promote women empowerment and celebrate the entrepreneurial achievements of Self-Help Group (SHG) members, the Mission Shakti Department of Odisha will organize the ‘Lakhpati Didi Sammelan 2025’ on May 29.
The event will be graced by Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, who will felicitate the Lakhpati Didis—women SHG members who have achieved an annual income of ₹1 lakh or more through various self-driven economic activities. The initiative is aimed at recognizing and encouraging rural women entrepreneurs who are making remarkable contributions to the local and state economy.
Empowering Rural Women Entrepreneurs
The Sammelan will serve as a platform for these successful women to share their entrepreneurial journeys, challenges faced, and the milestones they have achieved. Their inspiring stories of self-reliance and economic empowerment are expected to motivate thousands of other women to pursue income-generating opportunities through SHG models.
The event is part of the government’s broader vision to create 1 lakh Lakhpati Didis in every district and promote sustainable livelihood generation through women-led micro-enterprises.
Mission Shakti’s Role
Under the Mission Shakti initiative, the Odisha government has been actively supporting women-led SHGs with financial assistance, training, market linkage, and infrastructure to boost rural entrepreneurship. The Lakhpati Didi Sammelan underscores the success of this mission and reflects the state’s commitment to inclusive development.
