PM Modi Chairs 10th NITI Aayog Meet; Focus on ‘Viksit Rajya for Viksit Bharat’ as Opposition CMs Return to Table

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is chairing the 10th Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog today, May 24, 2025, at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. The central theme of the meeting is “Viksit Rajya for Viksit Bharat@2047,” focusing on the pivotal role of states in India’s journey toward becoming a developed nation by 2047.

The meeting is attended by Chief Ministers and Lieutenant Governors of States and Union Territories, Union Ministers, and senior officials from NITI Aayog. Notably, Opposition Chief Ministers from Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Telangana, and Himachal Pradesh, who had skipped the last meeting, are present this time.

Key agenda items include promoting entrepreneurship, enhancing skilling, and creating sustainable employment opportunities across the country. Discussions also focus on leveraging the demographic dividend by fostering a conducive environment for manufacturing and service sectors in tier II and III cities, enhancing rural non-farm and urban employment in MSMEs and the informal sector, and encouraging state-level initiatives in the green economy through renewable energy and circular economic practices.

This meeting marks the first major gathering of all state and Union Territory chief ministers since Operation Sindoor, signaling intensified governance and developmental priorities amid evolving political dynamics.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is also attending the meeting as part of his two-day visit to New Delhi, during which he is scheduled to meet with seven Union ministers to discuss various state-related issues and advance Andhra Pradesh’s development roadmap.

The meeting underscores the Prime Minister’s commitment to cooperative federalism and taking all states forward as “Team India” for a Viksit Bharat.
