In a landmark move to bolster industrial growth and employment, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated and laid the foundation for 24 industrial projects worth ₹1.15 lakh crore at the Kalinga Nagar Industrial Complex in Jajpur district. This initiative is poised to create approximately 36,000 job opportunities across various sectors.
Major Investments and Employment Opportunities
Among the inaugurated projects is Tata Steel Limited’s 5 MTPA Integrated Steel Plant expansion, involving an investment of ₹47,599 crore and expected to generate 4,625 jobs. Additionally, the foundation was laid for Neelachal Ispat Nigam Limited’s 8.52 MTPA steel plant expansion, with an investment of ₹61,769 crore, projected to create 14,000 direct employment opportunities.
Diverse Sectoral Developments
The projects span critical sectors including steel, ferro alloys, chemicals, solar energy, health, refractory materials, automotive components, warehousing, and food processing. Notable ventures include JSL Group’s ₹470 crore petroleum and solar power project, Jatia Steel Limited’s ₹220 crore TMT rebar-cum-wire rod mill, and Abis Exports India Pvt Ltd’s ₹161.57 crore poultry feed plant.
International Collaborations
The industrial push has attracted significant international investment, with companies from Japan, Germany, the US, and the UK participating. Key projects include Linde India Limited’s ₹425 crore air separation unit, TYK Ceramics’ ₹57 crore refractory products facility, Almamet India’s ₹50.6 crore specialty chemicals unit, Neo Industries’ ₹72 crore chrome plating facility, Corewire Surface Technology’s ₹50.1 crore steel roll manufacturing unit, and Lechler India’s ₹1.5 crore precision nozzle facility.
Government’s Vision and Commitment
Chief Minister Majhi emphasized the state’s commitment to transforming Odisha into an industrial powerhouse. “Today, Odisha stands at a historic turning point. With the launch of these industrial projects, we are building the future,” he stated. The rapid implementation of these projects follows the recent Utkarsh Odisha–Make in Odisha Conclave-2025, reflecting the government’s dedication to converting investment intent into action with speed and efficiency.

The projects are strategically located across Kalinga Nagar, Danagadi, and Badachana in Jajpur district, further solidifying the region’s status as a key node in Odisha’s industrial growth corridor.
