Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday chaired a crucial high-level meeting to assess the evolving security situation amid escalating tensions along the India-Pakistan border. The meeting was held as reports confirmed intensified military activity from both sides.
In attendance were Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, and the chiefs of the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. The discussions focused on the current security challenges and strategic responses to potential future developments.
According to officials, the Indian armed forces are responding proportionately to Pakistani military actions targeting Indian installations. The situation has become increasingly volatile, with both nations exchanging strikes on military facilities.
At a joint press briefing, Defence spokesperson Colonel Sofiya Qureshi stated, “The Pakistan military is observed to be moving their troops to the border areas.” This was corroborated by Wing Commander Vyomika Singh and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, who emphasized the seriousness of the threat.
The Indian government has ramped up its strategic preparedness, enhancing vigilance across border areas and critical installations.
