Number of NACs increased, Chhatrapur becomes a municipality

On the occasion of Local Self Government Day, the Odisha government has made a big announcement. For the development of Panchayati Raj and urban areas, 16 new NACs (Notified Area Councils) and 7 new municipalities have been announced in the state. They are Loisingha in Balangir district, Sohela in Bargarh district, Badamba, Narasinghpur & Salepur in Cuttack district, and Gadia in Dhenkanal district, as well as Jaganathaprasad, Patrapur in Ganjam district, Chandikhol in Jajpur district, Narla, Jayapatna in Kalahandi district, Tangi in Khordha district, Borigumma in Koraput district, Kaptipada, Jashipur, Rasgobindpur in Mayurbhanj district, while the 7 newly formed municipalities are Karanjia, Boudh, Aska Bhanjanagar, Chhatrapur, Kabisurjyanagar, Polasara has been placed.
