Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan launched the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0” green initiative on the auspicious occasion of Suna Besha, as part of Van Mahotsav 2025, aiming to enhance afforestation and environmental stewardship in the tribal-majority region.
During the ceremony, Pradhan motivated local families, students, and community leaders to plant and nurture saplings, emphasizing the collective responsibility to preserve Mother Earth. He remarked that this drive is not just about planting trees but nurturing a lifelong bond with nature.
Held at a picturesque venue in Koraput, the event saw enthusiastic participation from schoolchildren, forest officials, and senior administrators. Pradhan called for a greener, healthier future and declared that the initiative aligns with both environmental priorities and community empowerment in tribal districts.
The launch paves the way for broader tree-planting campaigns across Odisha, with similar activities expected in villages, schools, and government offices in the coming week. The “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0” campaign underscores the government’s push towards climate resilience and sustainable development, hoping to inspire generations to protect forests and biodiversity.
