Odisha Home Department Orders Major Reshuffle: 19 OPS (SB) Officers Transferred Across the State

Bhubaneswar, Oct 9, 2025: The Odisha Home Department on Thursday announced a major reshuffle in the police administration, transferring 19 Odisha Police Service (Special Branch) officers across various districts and key units. The large-scale transfer order, issued through an official notification, aims to streamline administrative efficiency and strengthen law enforcement across the state.

Major Transfers in Key Districts

As per the order, Alok Kumar Jena, previously serving as Additional SP, Bolangir, has been posted as Additional SP, Berhampur, replacing Seema Swain, who has been transferred to the office of the IGP, NCR, Talcher.

Other significant changes include Indurekha Paschimakabata being appointed as Additional SP, IUCAW, Dhenkanal, and Amrit Kumar Panda transferred as Additional SP, IUCAW, Bolangir.

Postings in Vigilance and State Headquarters

In the reshuffle, Swastik Panda has been moved to the Vigilance Organisation, while Sourav Otta will now serve at the State Police Headquarters, Cuttack.
Pravat Kumar Biswal has been transferred to IUCAW, Kendrapara, and Sanjeev Kumar Satapathy to the STF Wing, Bhubaneswar.

Additional Reassignments

Several other officers have been reassigned to different divisions and training institutions:

  • Sasmita Sahoo, Aswini Kumar Nayak, and Devjeet Bhattacharya – to Vigilance and DIB units

  • Akash Chandra Sahoo – to BPSPA, Bhubaneswar

  • Harapriya Nayak – to Vigilance

  • Satyavikash Bhuyan – to DIB, Bhadrak

  • Anshuman Dwibedi – to Rayagada

Administrative Focus

Officials stated that the transfers are part of a routine administrative reshuffle aimed at ensuring optimal manpower deployment and strengthening district-level policing.

The Home Department emphasized that such rotations play a vital role in maintaining operational efficiency and fostering transparency within the police force.
