Bhubaneswar, July 26: In a major step toward its green energy goals, the Odisha government has approved fresh solar and wind power projects totaling 178 megawatts (MW), drawing investments of nearly ₹870 crore. The approvals were granted by the Energy Department’s Single Window Committee during a meeting held on Wednesday.
Among the key projects greenlit:

Prozeal Green Energy Limited will develop a 69.5 MW solar park in Biramaharajpur, Subarnapur district.

INOX Solar Limited has received the nod for a 49.5 MW solar project in Telkoi, Keonjhar district.

Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) has been cleared to set up a 10 MW solar plant in Lakhanpur, Jharsuguda.

NLC India Renewables Limited will set up a wind energy project in Papadahandi, Nabarangpur district.
These projects are expected to significantly boost Odisha’s transition to clean energy, enhance energy security, and reduce carbon emissions.
According to official data, with the latest additions, the total renewable energy capacity approved by the committee has reached 1,844.86 MW, backed by cumulative investment commitments of ₹12,599.79 crore.
The expansion supports Odisha’s aim to become a major renewable energy hub in eastern India, aligning with national and global sustainability targets.
