Ganjam, July : Ganjam district in Odisha has made a mark on the national stage with Aska and Chikiti Notified Area Councils (NACs) earning prestigious accolades in the Swachh Survekshan 2024 awards held in New Delhi. The awards were presented by President Droupadi Murmu during a grand ceremony organised by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India.
Asika NAC: A Historic Milestone
Asika created history by securing the 2nd position at the national level and 1st in Odisha among all Notified Area Councils. This is Asika’s first-ever national-level award under the Swachh Survekshan initiative, marking a significant milestone in its sanitation journey.
Chikiti NAC: Consistent Excellence
Chikiti continued its legacy of cleanliness by receiving its third national award. In the category of towns with a population under 20,000, Chikiti ranked 3rd in Odisha, reaffirming its commitment to hygiene and sustainable urban living.
The award was received on behalf of Odisha by the Hon’ble Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Krushna Chandra Mohapatra, reflecting the state government’s active role in driving urban sanitation reforms.
