Chatrapur MLA Distributes New Ration Cards to Eligible Beneficiaries

In a step towards ensuring food security and welfare for all, Chatrapur MLA Shri Krushna Chandra Nayak on Friday distributed new ration cards to eligible beneficiaries under the Food Supply and Consumer Welfare Department. The distribution programme was held at the premises of the Notified Area Council (NAC), Chatrapur, and witnessed the participation of hundreds of residents from different wards of the town.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Nayak emphasized the government’s commitment to providing essential support to economically weaker sections and ensuring that no family is left behind. He said the new ration cards would enable beneficiaries to access subsidized food grains and other essential commodities under the Public Distribution System (PDS), thus helping to reduce the burden of rising prices on poor and middle-income households.

He also urged the people to make judicious use of the benefits and to report any irregularities in the distribution system so that corrective measures could be taken promptly. Officials of the Food Supply and Consumer Welfare Department, along with representatives of the NAC, were present at the event to assist in the smooth distribution process and to resolve queries raised by beneficiaries.

The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the MLA and the administration for the timely initiative and hoped that such welfare schemes would continue to reach the needy. Shri Nayak assured them that the state government is working tirelessly to bring more such welfare schemes to Chatrapur and other parts of Ganjam district in the coming months.

The event concluded with the MLA interacting with the beneficiaries and taking stock of other civic issues in the locality, reaffirming his commitment to the development of Chatrapur and the welfare of its people.
