NEET UG 2025 Results Declared: Mahesh Kumar Secures AIR 1, Delhi Tops State Rankings in Top 10

Education Desk — The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially declared the NEET UG 2025 results, following the nationwide medical entrance examination held on May 4. Over 22.06 lakh candidates appeared for the prestigious test this year, conducted across 5,468 exam centres in 552 Indian cities and 14 international locations, including Dubai, Doha, Singapore, and Kathmandu.

NEET (UG) 2025 Result: The list of top 10 candidates:

Top Performer: Mahesh Kumar from Rajasthan

Topping the chart is Mahesh Kumar from Hanumangarh, Rajasthan, who secured All India Rank (AIR) 1 with a percentile score of 99.9999547. Mahesh prepared for the exam while residing in Sikar, a city known for its coaching hubs.

Following him are:

  • Utkarsh Awadhiya from Madhya Pradesh (AIR 2)

  • Krishang Joshi from Maharashtra (AIR 3)

State-wise Dominance in Top 10

Delhi emerged as the most successful region this year, contributing three candidates to the All India Top 10 list. Maharashtra and Gujarat each had two students, while Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Punjab had one each.

Breakdown of Top 10 by State:

  • Delhi: 3 candidates

  • Maharashtra: 2 candidates

  • Gujarat: 2 candidates

  • Rajasthan: 1 candidate

  • Madhya Pradesh: 1 candidate

  • Punjab: 1 candidate

Category-wise Participation

Out of the 22 lakh+ candidates:

  • OBC: 9.4 lakh registrations (largest group)

  • Unreserved (General): 6.89 lakh

  • SC: 3.3 lakh

  • EWS: 1.5 lakh

  • ST: 1.5 lakh

Women continued to outnumber men, with 13.1 lakh female candidates appearing for the exam versus 9.65 lakh male candidates.

What’s Next: Admissions and Counselling

The NEET UG 2025 score will serve as the qualifying criterion for admission into:

  • MBBS, BDS, BSc (Hons) Nursing, and Veterinary Science

  • AYUSH programmes: BAMS, BUMS, BSMS, and BHMS

While NTA’s responsibility ends at declaring results, further admissions will be handled by:

  • Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for All India Quota (AIQ) seats

  • State counselling authorities for regional admissions

  • Veterinary Council of India (VCI) for 15% BVSc & AH seats

  • AACCC for AYUSH admissions
