Ganjam, Odisha | June 2, 2025: The 5th edition of the Odisha Naval Tata Hockey Grassroots League Championship 2025 (Phase-1) is all set to begin from June 3 to June 10 at the Hockey Training Centre (HTC), Chatrapur, in Ganjam district.
This prestigious grassroots tournament is being jointly organized by the Odisha Naval Tata Hockey High Performance Centre (HPC) in collaboration with the Department of Sports and Youth Services, Government of Odisha.
The championship is part of a strategic initiative to promote hockey at the grassroots level, identifying and nurturing young talent from across the state. This year’s event will witness 68 teams from 18 districts of Odisha competing with high spirits and passion. A total of 34 Grassroots (GR) Centers will participate in this week-long championship, highlighting the widespread reach and growing enthusiasm for hockey in rural and semi-urban regions.
The league serves as a critical platform for young players to showcase their skills, gain competitive exposure, and potentially progress through the state’s structured hockey development pathway.
With Odisha emerging as a hub for Indian hockey, initiatives like this continue to strengthen the foundation of the sport and inspire the next generation of champions.
