Indian javelin ace Neeraj Chopra secured the silver medal at the Doha Diamond League 2025 with a stunning personal best throw of 90.23 metres. The event, held on a glittering night in Qatar’s capital on May 16, witnessed Chopra opening strong with an 88.44m throw before achieving his career-best on the third attempt.

Despite the remarkable feat, Chopra was edged out by Germany’s Julian Weber, who clinched gold with a dramatic final throw of 91.06 metres. Weber, who had been improving with every attempt, moved from bronze to silver and finally sealed gold in his last effort. Grenada’s Anderson Peters took bronze with a throw of 85.64 metres, while India’s Kishore Jena finished eighth with a best of 78.60 metres.

Chopra’s new record surpasses his previous personal best of 89.94m achieved in Stockholm in 2022 and 89.45m in Paris in 2024, reaffirming his position among the world’s elite javelin throwers.

With this stellar performance, Neeraj Chopra continues to inspire and raise the bar for Indian athletics on the global stage.
